Specifications and applications

What can I use a container for?

Containers are perfect for storage, temporary workspaces, material containers, transport, or even as a base for a conversion project.

Can I have a container customized?

Yes, we offer a variety of customizations such as doors, windows, insulation, electricity, and more.

Can I use a container as a workspace?

Certainly! We convert containers into workspaces, with insulation, heating, ventilation, and lighting.

Are containers suitable for long-term storage and secure against break-ins?

Absolutely. Containers are durable and secure, ideal for long-term storage. Our containers have a lockbox, where you can place a high-quality padlock for extra security.

Are there condensation problems with steel containers?

Condensation problems can sometimes occur, depending on what is stored, humidity, and temperature fluctuations. Our containers all have a certain degree of ventilation that is usually sufficient, but if deemed necessary, we can make the necessary adjustments to prevent this.

Can our container be a specific color of choice?

The new and used options we have in stock come in various colors. If the color you need is not available, we can spray any RAL color you require. Unless otherwise stated, we use a high-quality paint system for shipping for all repainting.

What is the expected lifespan of a container?

This depends on the use of the container. However, they are designed and built for long and heavy use in which goods are transported around the world. Therefore, they are very sturdy and safe. A used option is usually already in international use for more than 10 years and sometimes longer, but depending on usage, location, and reasonable maintenance, it is not uncommon to expect another more than 10 years of use. New units have completed one trip from the country of production and can be expected to last more than 30 years as a storage unit with reasonable use and maintenance.

Other questions

Do I need a building permit to place a shipping container?

Containers are considered temporary structures and typically do not require a building permit. However, we do recommend taking the local environment into account; for example, we can provide green units for rural areas. If in doubt, it may be wise to check with your municipality.

What is the difference between containers with different descriptions, such as freight, cargo, shipping, and ISO containers?

In principle, there is no difference. All our units, unless modified, are new or used ISO transport units that were originally designed and manufactured according to specific international ISO standards. These design and production standards ensure that they can withstand the harsh elements of international transport safely for years and that the contents remain safe, dry, and secure on land, at sea, in trucks, and trains.
